Artillery attacks force nearly all residents from six villages to flee their homes

HURFOM: Beginning in early July, 2023, the 314th Artillery Battalion launched artillery attacks on villages in Bee Lin Township, Mon State, and nearly all residents from six villages have had to flee from their homes.
“(The military junta has) launched artillery attacks targeting the village every day. Most villagers have to hide in plantations or the forests. Those who have money flee to relatives’ houses in cities,” said a villager from Zee Wun village.
At least 3,000 villagers from six villages including Ah Wun Gyi, Zee Wun, Shwe Yaung Pya, Ka Zile and Ah Lu villages have had to flee from their villages.
On July 7, 2023, a 57-year-old woman from Shwe Yaung Pya village was injured by an artillery attack and the local villagers reported to HURFOM that she died at Bee Lin General Hospital on July 9, 2023.
