Eight-year-old girl repeatedly raped in Long Lone

HURFOM: During the rainy season (from June to September) in 2025, an eight-year-and-six-month-old girl from Kyauk Sin village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division was raped at least six times by 50-year-old U Zaw Zaw who lived in the same village.

Saying “Let’s go to chop bamboos” or “Let’s go to pluck vegetables”, he called the girl to accompany him into the forest. The girl’s parents knew him very well so they let her go. At the last time on September 3rd, her mother found the girl looked unwell and the dry leaves stuck to her back. Then, she asked the girl and knew what happened to her,” said a source close to the family.

Following the rape, the girl has been suffering from the urinary track infection and admitted to the Dawei General Hospital.

The mother reported the rape case to the Long Lone Township People Security Forces and the troop came to arrested the rapist on September 6th.

However, as of September 29th, the family has not received any update about how legal action had been taken against the rapist.

Currently, Zaw Zaw has been detained by the Long Long People Security Forces. But we’ve known nothing about him even more than 20 days have passed,” said a local source.

According to the local villagers, the rapist U Zaw Zaw was a wealthy man who know the victim’s family very well.
