HURFOM: At about 5 pm on August 24th, 2025, the Maw Ka Nin based 106th Light Infantry Battalion targeted San Pya village, Ye Township, Mon State with indiscriminate artillery attack even though there was no active armed clash in the area.
A 60-year-old man was hit by debris from an artillery explosion and sustained a serious injury to his right knee.
“We dare not send him to hospital immediately as we’re afraid of breaching curfew. We sent him to the Lamine General Hospital the next morning (August 25th),” said a local woman.

The 106th LIB has been targeting nearby villages with daily artillery attacks and local villagers are worrying about the possibility of triggering armed clashes.
On August 23rd, the artillery attack launched by the 106th LIB caused a small damage to a house in Ka Nin Ka Maw village.
On August 17th, the artillery attack by the same LIB destroyed utility poles in Kaw Dut village and the villagers experienced an 18-hour-long blackout.
“Now, there are constant artillery attacks in Northern Ye. The plantation owners and workers dare not go to their workplace. Now is the time to clean our plantation but no one wants to gamble with their lives,” said one worker.
