HURFOM: Since August 15th, there have been intense battles between the junta’s regiment and the Mon and Karen joint revolutionary groups between Kaw Hline and Ma Yan Chaung village, Yebyu Township.
Then on August 19th, 2025, an 18-year-old young man from Thar Yar Mon village, Yar Phu village tract, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division was returning home from Nat Inn Taung village by bike. He encountered a junta regiment that had advanced into Kaw Hline village when he was arrested.
“He usually goes to Nat Inn Taung for work. On this occasion he was carrying a lot of money. After his arrest, a private (from the regiment) called us claiming that he had shared military information with the revolutionary groups via his cellphone. Despite this accusation, they said they were treating him well and he would be released soon,” said the local resident.
Family members went to the Mawrawaddy Navy Command to see him but the authorities there claimed they knew nothing about his arrest. He was lost without trace.
“Having connection with revolutionary groups is just an accusation. He has no contact with the groups. He had about 300,000 MMK cash in his hand on that day. Now, it’s already been two days and a night since his arrest. We haven’t had contact with him. I pray that nothing has happened to him,” continued the aunt.
