Junta cuts telecommunication network for more than a month in Tenasserim and Long Lone

HURFOM: Since the last week of May, 2025, there have been frequent armed clashes and growing military tension in Tenasserim and Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division.
The military junta cut off the telecommunication network, and banned transportation of gasoline in Tenasserim Township.
“There have been attacks from the infantry and the navy. The junta has cut off electricity and gasoline. We have had problems with phone signals and not been able to access the internet for more than a month,” said a resident from Long Lone Township.

In July the junta also cut off electricity in Long Lone Township.
“We don’t have electricity. Our phones have no power. We have a ton of problems,” said a local villager.
Currently, there have been armed clashes in Ta Ku village track, Tenasserim Township and military tension is growing.
“The junta has intentionally cut off electricity for a month before the armed clash. We don’t have a phone signal if there is no electricity. Then, the infantry and the navy launched their attacks,” said a resident from Tenasserim Township.
Since February 1, 2021, the date the attempted coup began, to 2025, the junta has cut off the telecommunication network 392 times across Burma and there were 23 telecommunication blackouts in Tenasserim Division, according to a report by the Myanmar Internet Project.
