HURFOM: The military junta has been conducting frequent aerial patrols and indiscriminate artillery attacks in Mon and Karen State and residents are worrying about their security and safety.
Since June 21st, 2025, there have been frequent aerial patrols near Ah Nan Kwin village, Kyarinnseikyi Township, Karen State. Villagers fear that there will be an armed clash.
“Four months ago, an armed clash broke out in Ah Nan Kwin soon after the aerial patrol. We haven’t seen the aerial patrol for a long time. Now, we saw the military aircraft again this month and worry that an armed clash will break out,” said a Kyarinnseikyi resident.
The Kyarinnseikyi based 284th Light Infantry Battalion has repeatedly launched indiscriminate artillery attacks on nearby areas.
In Mudon Township, Mon State, the junta has also been conducting aerial patrols and launched indiscriminate artillery attacks so area residents are preparing to flee their homes.
“They (the army) launch artillery attacks at night to frighten (villagers and resistance forces). The villagers are on standby ready to run away. We must know what is happening in order to be prepared,” said a Mudon resident.
In Ye Township, despite no active armed clashes, the local artillery regiment launched indiscriminate artillery attacks on rubber plantations and junta personnel staffing the security gates were arresting and extorting plantation workers, making local residents feel insecure about their safety and security.
