Chair of social and rescue team shot and killed in Bilin

HURFOM: On June 3rd, 2025, Daw Thidar Moe, Chair of a social and rescue team based in Thit Toe Kyune village, Bilin Township, Mon State was shot and killed by two unknown gunmen, who rode a motorbike.
She was shot at close range after returning from a grocery store in the village at about 7 pm.
She suffered gunshot wounds to her head, chest, abdomen and waist and died on the spot.
“Daw Thidar Moe is the Chair of the village social and rescue team. We don’t know why she was killed. The army has conducted a tough check in the village,” said a Thit Toe Kyune villager.
Military lobbyists have accused local People’s Defense Forces of killing Daw Thidar Moe but the local revolutionary armed groups deny the accusation.
Accusations between the two groups are common, but there is no concrete evidence pointing to either group being responsible for the killing.
