Two children injured by artillery attack in Kaw Ka Rate

HURFOM: On March 23rd, 2025, there had been an intense battle between the military junta and the Karen National Liberation Army nearby Kaw Ka Rate Town, Karen State.
At about 4 pm, an artillery shell dropped and exploded on a house in Ward #2, Kaw Ka Rate Town and the explosion injured two children.
11-year-old Maung Sai Way Yan Myo and six-year-old Ma Lin Lell Nay Chyi sustained serious injuries by the explosion.
“We haven’t known which group launched the attack. The two children sustained injuries at the whole bodies by the artillery debris. The injuries were serious but they aren’t in life-threatening situation,” said a local source.
The two children were firstly admitted to the Taung Kalay Hospital in Kaw Ka Rate Township but later, they have been transferred to the Hpa-An General Hospital.
The KNLA and the People Defense Forces accused that the artillery attack was launched by the military junta.
Since early February, 2025, intense battles resumed nearby Kaw Ka Rate Town and the military junta has been launching artillery attacks and air assaults and dropping bombs by drones causing civilians’ casualties and damage to houses.
