Local man injured by artillery explosion dies at hospital

On January 12th and 13th, 2025, the joint revolutionary forces had attacked the junta’s security gate at the entrance of Ka Lane Aung Town, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division.
In response, on January 14th, the Kan Bauk based Mawrawaddy Navy Command had launched indiscriminate artillery attacks to Ta Line Myaw village, Tell Chaung village track, Yebyu Township.
The artillery explosion seriously injured 51-year-old U Tun Kyi from Ta Line Myaw village.
“There were four artillery attacks on that day. Two shells dropped outside the village and one shell dropped in the village. Two houses were brunt down. The artillery shell dropped in front of the house of the deceased uncle. He was sent to hospital immediately,” said a source close to the victim’s family.
During receiving treatment at the Kan Bauk Navy Hospital, U Tun Kyi died on January 15th, and his body was cremated on January 16th, 2025.
