HURFOM: Since the third week of August, 2025, the two regiments of the military junta have been launching operation in Maung Ma Kan, Tha Bot Sake, Pyin Gyi, Phwar Boat Pyin, Bu Chai and Kyauk Sin villages, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division for more than ten days and forced more than 5,000 residents to flee their home.

The regiments had also burnt down and destroyed eight houses from Bu Chai and Phwar Boat Pyin villages, two houses from Pyin Gyi village and one house in Tha Bot Sake village.

The regiment stationed themselves at Maung Ma Kan, Tha Bot Sake and Pyin Gyi villages had seized the motorbikes of the displaced villagers and took them with the military trucks. They also destroyed houses and took every valuable thing they found,” said a social worker who help displaced persons.

As the regiments have been launching military operation for days, the displaced villagers are facing livelihood hardship.

Those who don’t have money to move to the cities have to stay on the boats. Now, they don’t have rice to eat. We can buy nothing from the shops in the villages as the junta’s troops looted everything from the shops. We’re really in trouble,” said the social worker.

The regiments have temporarily stationed themselves nearby Pyin Gyi village as of September 3rd.

The local villagers reported HURFOM that the regiments have arrested more than ten villagers during the military operation but HURFOM is still unable to confirm the source.
