HURFOM: On August 2nd, 2024, a military regiment consisting of about 200 troops launched a military operation targeting Lell Thit village, Tenasserim Township, Tenasserim Division and battled with the local resistance forces.

Local sources said the junta burnt down four houses after the battle.

It’s the second time we experienced a military operation. After the armed clash, the junta’s troops brought gasoline and burnt down four houses in western Lell Thit,” said a Lell Thit resident.

The junta also launched their military operation on July 19th and again on July 30th, the junta also targeted the village with an air assault.

On August 9th, 2024, bombs were dropped on Kyauk Mi Kyaung, Kwin Thit and Nyaung Pin Kwin villages of Tenasserim Township and a monastery was destroyed and livestock were killed.

The junta has dropped bombs on the villages in Tenasserim Township every day despite there being no armed clashes. The worry amongst local villagers is escalating,” said a resident from Tenasserim Division.

In June and July, the junta’s air assaults injured at least three children in Tenasserim Township.
