Junta’s forces recklessly kill girl in Long Lone

HURFOM: On July 10th, 2024, junta forces recklessly shot and killed a 17-year-old girl from Tha Pyar village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim.

According to local sources, the military junta battled with the People’s Defense Force in the morning and then searched a house in front of “Nat Ye Yadanar” monastery. At that time, Ma Thet Htar Kine aka Ma Yine Yine Lay came out from a bomb shelter and the junta’s forces shot and killed her.

At that time, the junta’s forces forced a couple of house owners to squat down in the house and then, their daughter came out from the bomb shelter. The forces shot her and the bullet passed through her armpit and penetrated into the lungs. Then, she’s dead,” said a Tha Pyar resident.

The junta’s forces beat and tortured the uncle of the young girl. He has been admitted to the Dawei General Hospital. The forces also seized four mobile phones from the house and various “items” from nearby houses.

HURFOM has learned from locals that the junta also attacked Tha Pyar village with artillery assaults after the battle.
