Junta’s artillery attack injures six residents including three children in Kyike Hto

HURFOM: On July 4th, 2024, the 2nd light infantry battalion operating under the 44th battalion command in Ta K Chaung village, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State launched three indiscriminate artillery attacks.
The artillery shells exploded in Kara Way Sate village injuring a 55-year man.
On July 6th, the regiment again targeted Ngat Pyaw Taw village. Artillery shells exploded in the Zee Gone Ward and injured 8-year-old Aung Thell Phyu, 10-year-old Chit Min Thant, 13-year-old Maung Kyaw Zwar Oo, their mother and other two residents.
“The man from Kara Way Sate had to be transferred to Pegu General Hospital from Kim Moom Sakhan Hospital. His injury is serious and his right arm was amputated,” said a local source.
The injured residents from Ngat Pyaw Taw village have been sent to Bilin General Hospital. The artillery explosion also damaged houses and cars.
According to data collected by HURFOM, in June, 2024, artillery attacks killed a novice and two residents and injured nine other villagers in Kyike Hto Township.
