Two plantation workers shot and killed in Ye Township

HURFOM: On June 1st, 2024, two local men from Kyone Long old village, Ye Township, Mon State were shot and killed at their rubber plantation.
U Phoe Kalar died on the spot while his friend sustained a severe injury. He was sent to Ye General Hospital but died on June 3rd.
As of today, no one knows which armed organization is responsible for the killing of two men.
“We’re aware of the incident but don’t know which organization the gunmen belong to,” said a local source.
Local armed resistance forces have frequently shot and killed staff appointed by the military junta, their informants and those who have cooperated with the junta, but none of the local armed organizations have released a statement or said anything about the recent killings.
