Pyin Htein villager shot and killed by the Long Lone PDF

HURFOM: On April 12th, 2024, a villager from Pyin Htein village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division was shot and killed by the Long Lone People’s Defense Force.

53-year-old U Kyi Lay was working on his pig farm when the Long Lone PDF came to arrest him. Then, he was shot and killed.

“The Long Lone PDF released a statement that they shot a gun to frighten U Kyi Lay who ran away, but they accidently killed him. But it wasn’t an accident. They shot him so his temple blew out and he’s dead,” said a Pyin Htein villager.

Long Lone PDF has accused U Kyi Lay of cooperating with the military junta.

“Their accusation in their statement is just rumor and their opinion. They also beat U Kyi Lay’s son with their rifle butt four or five times when they came to arrest him,” said a local villager.

On April 8th, 2024, 38-year-old Ko Pauk Si from Yar Phu village, Yebyu Township was arrested by a local PDF and disappeared. No one knows of his whereabouts or if he is still alive.
