Local woman injured in a shooting incident in Kyike Hto

HURFOM: On April 2nd, 2024, a shooting took place at the Office of the Township Electricity Providing Committee in Kyike Hto Town, Mon State and a local woman sustained a gunshot injury.

Local revolutionary forces travelling in a car attacked junta’s troops providing security to the township electricity office. One bullet struck the right arm of 30-year-old Ma Thel Thel Aung who lives in Taung Thu Zu Ward.

“The PDF attacked the junta and the junta shot back. We also heard the sound of artillery fire. A local woman was shot but it isn’t life-threatening. Everyone is frightened as the shooting incident took place downtown,” said a Kyike Hto resident.

After the shooting incident, junta’s troops tightened their security and conducted a patrol around the town. Additional troops were also deployed at the entrance and exit of the town.
