Civilian from Thane Za Yet sustains injury in armed clash

HURFOM: On January 17th, 2024, an armed clash took place between the military junta and the revolutionary forces at the police station in Thane Za Yet Town, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State.  A civilian sustained an injury during the clash.

The revolutionary forces attacked the police station with artillery weapons and in response, junta troops launched artillery attacks. A 30-year-old man from Yaw Lay Kwet Thit Ward, Thane Za Yet Town was injured by the artillery explosion.

After the police station was attacked, troops responded with an artillery attack and one shell exploded in Yaw Lay Kwet Thit. Ko Kyaw Nine Tun was hit by artillery debris while he was cooking rice in the kitchen,” said a Thane Za Yet resident.

The victim was sent to Thane Za Yet General Hospital.  His injury was not life-threatening.

On January 16th, 2024, two young boys from Thone Kwa village, Thane Za Yet Township were injured by an artillery attack instigated by the 310th Artillery Regiment #310.
