GAD vice chief and two staff arrested by junta in Thanbyuzayat

HURFOM: On December 17th, 2023, the Vice Chief of the Thanbyuzayat Township General Administration Department (GAD) and two staff were arrested by the military junta after being accused of sharing information with the People’s Defense Forces.
Since the last week of November, junta forces have arrested nearly 70 Thanbyuzayat residents. All have been accused of providing financial support to the PDF. This is the second arrest of Vice Chief Ko Aung Ko Ko, 40-year-old Win Htike and Zin Lin Nwe.
“The junta says they shared departmental information with the PDF and arrested them,” said a local source.
The three have been under the Anti-Terrorist Act Section 52A and are being detained at the Thanbyuzayat Town Police Station.
