Three residents disappear within two weeks in Ye

HURFOM: Between December 1st and the 13th, 2023, three residents from Ye Township, Mon State disappeared without trace, according to the local sources.
On December 1st, 13-year-old Maung Chan Chan and 15-year-old Maung Aung Moe from Hnit Ka Yin village disappeared from their home. As of today, no family member has had any contact with either.
“We haven’t found the two children yet. In the early morning of December 1, they left home to go fishing but never came back. We went to the fishing area but found no one. Their parents are worrying a lot,” said an official from a local rescue team.
At 3 pm on December 13, 2023, a man hired Ko Kyaw Zin Win, a motorbike taxi driver from Maw Ka Nin village, to drive him to Thanbyuzayat. Then, he too lost contact with his family.
No one knows the reason for the disappearance of the three residents.
“I can’t comment regarding the disappearance of the children,” said a social worker.
