Mon woman was raped by two migrant workers in Thanpyuzayat

Mi Son (not real name), sixteen years old was raped by a Burman man who migrate from upper Burma for getting hire work in the garden of Thanpyuzayat Town Mon State.

On 24.2.2008 evening, two Burman men raped her on the way she returning home from the garden in Thanpyuzayat. They blocked and pulled down her bicycle and kicked her two times and raped her.
Mi Son is a daughter of farmer and she goes to their garden where far from their house about twenty minutes by bicycle every days.

Her parent secretly complained the town authority to take action against the raper for the cases. The authority colleted some Burman men who are working in Thanpyuzayat to let her point the perpetrator. The raper was not in that group and she cannot choose. That is all what the authority done for her rape case. There is nothing helping her to be better and she only has to accept ashamed every time if we keep telling about this rape cased according to her aunty.

Because of her dignity her family tried to keep quiet about her and answered to the others “there is nothing happen to her”. But her neighboring said that she was raped and they cannot arrest the rapist.
