Junta launches military operation again in Ya Ngae village and burns down houses

HURFOM: On October 17, 2023, a military unit with about 50 troops launched another operation in Ya Ngae village, Tha Yet Chaung Township, Tenasserim Division and burnt down four houses in the village.
“We heard the sound of artillery gunfire when they entered the village. We saw from afar that they burnt down houses,” said a Ya Ngae villager.
Another military unit with about 60 troops launched an operation in Ya Ngae village on October 9 and burnt down eight houses.
The junta has frequently launched military operations targeting Ya Ngae village, resulting in residents having to flee. Most have not returned to their homes.
“The military has launched operations very frequently. They just left for Pae Dat village, but only for a day and then came back again,” said one villager who fled.
Approximately 600 residents from Ya Ngae, Ka Net Thiri and Kywe Min Gone villages fled from their homes and continue to endure many difficulties.
