Woman arrested by the junta found dead in Yebyu

HURFOM: On October 14, 2023, local people found the body of a 20-year-old woman who died of a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
The young woman’s body was bound with fabric and found in the street near a bridge in Wet Chaung village, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division.
The victim was Ma Sandar Khine, from Kha Maung Chaung village. She was arrested by the military on September 22.
The military arrested eight villagers including Ma Sandar Khine but only released six of those arrested. Ma Sandar Khine and a local man were detained, until her body was recently found. There has been no report on the whereabouts or status of the man.
