HURFOM: On January 5th, 2025, an artillery explosion in Inn Pyar village, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division injured an elderly local man and a teenage girl.
The junta’s security gate at the Kan Lane Aung Bridge in Yebyu Township was attacked on January 4th, and soon after the attack, the junta targeted Inn Pyar and Zin Bar villages with artillery attacks for two consecutive days.
The artillery explosion injured 60-year-old U Kyi Myint and his neighbor teenage girl. Both suffered injuries to their legs.
“They were injured at night, and had to stay at home for the whole night. They were only admitted to hospital the next morning. But the hospital hasn’t done anything with their injuries,” said a local villager who visited the hospital.
Due to the constant artillery attacks, the high school in Ka Lane Aung had to be closed for a day on January 6th and junta’s forces beat and interrogated young men in Ward 1 they found near the Ka Lane Aung Bridge.
The military junta had shut down the Bridge soon after their security gate was attacked but reopened the bridge on January 6th.
