Junta’s artillery attack injures elderly man in Thane Za Yat

HURFOM: On November 1st, 2024, a battle took place between the military junta and the joint resistance forces between Thone Kwa and Yaw Kyaw village, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State. During the battle, the 310th artillery regiment based in Thane Za Yat launched at least 20 120-mm artillery attacks on nearby villages.
One of the artillery shells exploded in War Kyi Taught Kwin village and injured 50-year-old resident, U Tint Zaw.
“Up to 20 artillery attacks were launched during the battle. U Tint Zaw sustained an injury to his lower leg by the last artillery attack. Now, he’s receiving treatment,” said a local source.
Since October 30th, 2024, a junta’s regiment consisting of 150 troops has attacked Mell Yone Lay, Kyouk Pone, Mell Yone Gyi, Moe Ball Nat Sin and nearby villages.
The junta’s indiscriminate artillery attacks have forced nearly 1,000 residents from Kyouk Pone, Moe Ball Nat Sin and Mell Yon Gyi villages to flee their communities.
On October 22nd, 2024, the 310th artillery regiment launched an unprovoked attack that injured an elderly woman.
According to the local sources, at least five residents have been injured by the junta’s indiscriminate artillery attack in Than ZaYat Township in September and October, 2024.
