Passenger and two residents injured in Bilin Battle

HURFOM: On September 9th, 2024, the joint resistance forces had attacked the “Tan Da Dar” security gate of the military junta nearby Tha Pyay Ne village, Bilin Township, Mon State and there was a heavy battle between two groups.

A passenger truck was stuck in the battle and a 37-year-old passenger Daw K Thi Oo who was from Ye Township was shot and sustained an injury at her waist.

Moreover, the junta had launched artillery attack during the battle and the attack injured 55-year-old Daw Mi Tay and her 14-year-old granddaughter Ma Nan Shwe Yi. The two victims are from Tha Pyay Ne village and sustained injuries at their forehead and chest.

Three civilians were injured in the yesterday battle. We picked them up (and sent them to hospital). A passenger who was in critical condition is from Ye (Township). They didn’t notice the battle and drove their car. The injuries of the grandmother and granddaughter aren’t serious,” said a member of local rescue team who wants to remain anonymous.

The injured victims were sent to the Thaton District Hospital and the patient who was in critical condition has started to recover.

On August 17th, a battle broke out in Taung Ka Lay village, Bilin Township and the junta’s artillery attack killed two residents and injured other five villagers.
