HURFOM: On June 16th, 2024, political activists from Zote Tote village, Bilin Township, Mon State were arrested by the junta, according to local sources.
A 50-year-old backhoe-loader driver, Ko Hla Moe and his wife Daw Nilar Khine, were arrested by the junta at their house. During the arrest, the junta’s forces found their 18-year-old son and also arrested him.
“No one knows the reason for the arrest. The couple used to participate in protests in the 2021 coup. But we don’t know what they are doing now,” said a resident.
The arrested couple are being detained and interrogated in the Bilin City Police Station.
Family members are not permitted to meet them and they have not been released.
