HURFOM: On September 5th, 2024, the junta’s regiment based at “Pagoda Hill” in Win Pyan village, Bilin Township, Mon State launched nine artillery attacks on Ah Luu Lay village.
The attacks were indiscriminate and there were no armed clashes in the areas that preceded the regiments actions.
One artillery shell exploded in the village street and injured 19-year-old Naw Mya Moe New. She sustained injuries to her right arm and back.
“The junta routinely launches artillery attacks every day even if there is no armed clash. Fortunately, none of the artillery shells dropped on any houses that day. However, artillery debris did hit a young woman who was walking in the street. Fortunately, her injury was not serious. Nor did any of the villagers flee the village in response to the attack,” said an Ah Luu Lay resident.
The injured woman was admitted to the Bilin Township General Hospital with the assistance of the local rescue team.
