Three men shot by unknown gunmen in Mawlamyine: Two dead and one injured

HURFOM: On November 9th, 2025, three men were shot by two unknown gunmen traveling on a motorbike in Myay Ni Gone Ward, Mawlamyine, Mon State. Two were killed instantly while one sustained a serious injury.
Tin Ko Ko Oo, the owner of the “Myin Thu Lan” Beauty Salon and Marmed R Yoon aka Ma Ni were both killed on the spot.
“They were shot and killed after a fight. The two were killed on the spot while another one sustained serious injury.” said a resident from Myay Ni Gone Ward.
Zwell Way Yan Htet who sustained serious injury has been admitted to the ICU of the Mawlamyine General Hospital.
The men had been at a festival in Hline Ward, and were seen arguing with members of the local militia group who operate under the junta.
People are shocked and frightened because the incident happened in Mawlamyine, the Capital of Mon State, which is fully controlled by the junta.
According to the data collected by HURFOM, from March to the first week of August, 2025, at least 16 extrajudicial killings have been documented in the area.
