HURFOM: On October 26th, 2025, a junta’s regiment consisting of approximately 200 troops advanced into Kaw Doon, Kaw Pa Naw, Kaw One, Kwan Ngan, Ka Don Si and nearby villages of Pyar Taung area, Kyikemayaw Township, Mon State. The troops established bases in these villages.
Later the regiment left the villages later and stationed themselves in the Mawlamyine Cement Factory and at nearby plantations. The regiment has been stopping pedestrians and frightening villagers.

“They conduct more checks on strangers and men. They force them to show their ID cards. They open their motorbike toolboxes. They check every single passenger on the express buses. They aren’t serious with women but they mainly target men,” said a resident.
The regiment also targets nearby villages with artillery and drone attacks forcing villagers to flee their homes in fear.
“Now, they won’t let anyone leave the village. All the displaced villagers had already gone back home. Junta soldiers say there is nothing to worry about,” said a villager.
The Pyar Taung area was recently under the control of the revolutionary forces but now, the junta’s army has established its bases leaving villagers worried about possible armed clashes.
